"Caring for the Community" is an initiative that gives back to the community for the holiday season. This year M'Jaie Style Life began an initiative which provide the senior citizens of Fairfield Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and the residents of W. Clyde Williams Terrance Apartments with toiletry items.

The toiletry items were donated with the help of 4 Fairfield City Schools, One Buck dollar store and Fred's general store. Donations will be accepted until December 21. Visit www.MJaieStylelife.com to see a full list of needed items. The donation sites are listed below.

My new "It" Bag

While visiting Savannah, Ga recently, I stopped by the Marc Jacobs store to do some shopping and fell in love with a BEAUTIFUL handbag. The unique window displays of a huge pink elephant and polka dot cow was inviting and made passerby's curious of the merchandise inside. Once inside the store however, the stylish garments, beautiful handbags, fashion, art & pop books (with titles and subjects such as Louis Vuitton, Vivienne Westwood, Jimmy Hendrix, Andy Warhol and many others) made you desire several of the fashionable pieces.

While inside the store, I noticed an orange statement handbag. The size is perfect; craftsmanship is superb; hardware is a great accent and the bold color is definitely an eye-catcher! This gorgeous handbag is the Bowery bag from the Resort 2012 collection. The vibrant "It" bag is a great addition to my collection and is a stylish way to liven up the wardrobe!

Karl Lagerfeld to design collection for Macy's

Karl Lagerfeld, the designer behind noted fashion house Fendi and Chanel, is set to design a collection for Macy's "Impulse" department. The collection will debut August 31. The collection will feature limited-edition women's apparel pieces that are reminiscent of his signature style. Merchandise from this collection will have a "sophisticated aesthetic that weaves rich fabrics and chic silhouettes together with a modern and versatile twist" (macys.com). Moderately priced from $50 to $170, this collection will sure to be a success! The collection will be sold in 235 of Macy's stores nationwide.

I can't wait to shop the Karl Lagerfeld collection. I absolutely love Macy's Impulse department, with brands like RACHEL Rachel Roy, BCBGeneration, Kensie, Free People and Joe's Jean, the Karl Lagerfeld collection is a good fit. Read more about the upcoming collection on macy's.com website.

In the August issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine, the season's best new accessories are showcased in a unique way. The magazine chose to have Smurfette from the upcoming movie "The Smufs" model the latest accessories. Although a cartoon, she wears the accessories well. Christian Louboutin creates gorgeous footwear that can be called wearable art for the sole. But make no mistake, his creations are not meant for comfort. In article for Elle UK, the shoemaker says "his shoes are perfect tools to encourage women to slow down and appreciate their surroundings". A statement which I totally agree with! Many shoes are not comfortable to walk in but so GREAT to wear and look even better on a well-pedicured foot. Read the entire article here.

Sharing my love of a cute leather jacket! The top jacket is a BCBG Max Azria black leather bolero that was purchased Fall/Winter '08 but I love the feel of this soft genuine leather. The gray faux leather jacket comes with studded lapels and zipped cuff. I purchased it last week from Charlotte Russe. Cute jacket and even better price! The second black bolero was purchased last week as well (yeah, I was in a leather shopping mood). It is such a great fit! This too is also faux leather with a pleated sway elongated lapel. What makes this jacket very comfy is the lycra/cotton blend that is under the arms to give it good movement and contouring for the arms.

Addicted to Accessories

I must admit, I am addicted to accessories and not ashamed to say it! There is a plethora of rings, bracelets, earrings, and necklaces in my possession that the accessories are "categorically" arranged by type & color. Because I often purchase accessories, the jewelry box they were once kept in was at its capacity, so I had to come up with a cost-effective way to store and show my accessories. In the jewelry box, the accessories were hidden and I couldn't see them when trying to choose which item to wear when getting dressed. So I decided to place the bracelets on a pant hanger. This way I can display the hanger in plain sight on the wall as well as I can see which bracelet or ring I want to wear. Below is how my fabulous accessories hang in my closet!

A sequin, lace or embellished top/blouse is a definite must have to style up an outfit, rather it be pants, jeans or a skirt. Fall is definitely the time to bring out the cashmere sweater and the heavy knits as well. The trench coat is ALWAYS in style, and is a staple for all women! A shearling coat is definite in this season and was seen on the runway at numerous NYFW shows. Shoes, shoes, shoes!! A girl can never have enough! This season, be sure to include a sexy bootie, a neutral pump, the shearling platform boot and the over the knee boot. Retailer H&M will collaborate with designer Lanvin for upcoming holiday collection. Lanvin is set to debut its collection in H&M stores in November 2010 and will be available for both men and women. The collection will continue to represent the luxury Lanvin brand but priced more moderately. This line for H&M is set to be modern and playful with much focus on form and details.

Bye-Bye Dark Circles, Hello Khuraira!

I'm saying goodbye to my dark circles! Okay I must admit that I do have dark circles under my eyes (not extremely dark/raccoon eyes, but it is a or two shade darker than the rest of my face). So, I got this new product Khuraira Dark Circle Primer and I must admit, it did an excellent job in covering up the dark circles and blemishes. What makes this product amazing is its orange color which is a neutralizer for dark spots on the skin because it neutralizes the blue discoloration that causes the darker circles. The Primer not only diminishes the appearance of dark under eye circles, but can be used for bruises, age spots, blemishes and tattoos.

This product REALLY covered my dark circles around my eyes and it easy to use. Apply to the eye before your undereye concealer, but be cautious not to use too much because it will look like you have on eye-shadow. You only need a small amount of the primer, so if you have a heavy hand, apply lightly. Priced at only $35.00, this is a must-have in your beauty bag. Chanel is set to launch its new men's fragrance named Bleu de Chanel, which gets its name from a Chanel cologne of 1930's. Bleu de Chanel is Chanel's first major men's fragrance since its 2004's Allure Homme Sport and will be available Fall 2010. Bebe Stores plan to discontinue operations of its unprofitable PH8 division, which is the company's sportswear collection, says Fox Business News. "Discontinuing the PH8 division will allow bebe to continue with developing its 2b bebe line, the company's low-price division. Bebe may convert its 48 PH8 stores into 2b locations". The company will begin to close or convert the PH8 stores beginning the first fiscal quarter of 2011.

If you can remember, PH8-which offered sexy fashion-forward active street wear, recently was converted from Bebe Sport in November 2009. Although PH8 apparel were less about logos and more about great design, quality and comfort, this did not translate into increased sales.
